Autumn in Klåva
Autumn in the archipelago is about shellfish and above all the lobster season. Also take the opportunity to update your working wardrobe and prepare a cosy home before the darker nights. In Klåva you can purchase everything you need.
Lobster season
The first Monday after the 20th September the Lobster season begins in Bohuslän. The boats leave the harbour early in the morning to lay their lobster pots, and the morning after the first lobsters are pulled in.

Find checkpoints in the archipelago of Gothenburg
Mars 28 – December 31
59 checkpoints have been placed on the islands of Björkö, Hönö, Brännö, Styrsö, Donsö and Vrångö. Find them with a physical map or by the App ‘Hittaut’, which can be downloaded free.
The physical map is available at the Tourist Office in Gothenburg, InfoPoints in the archipelago and Öckerö municipality building, or at hittaut.nu.

The Gothenburg archipelago trail
The Gothenburg archipelago trail, a part of the coastal trail, is a continuous hiking trail of 27 km and three stages, which stretches from Burö in the north, via Öckerö and Hönö, to Fotö in the south.
Book a hotel package and get a picnic basket to bring along, with tasty sandwiches, snacks and hot coffee or tea in a thermos.

The Fishing Museum
At the Klåva Fishing Museum you can see what the boats looked like, where they were built and how fishing was done with different tools.
Check out ancient monuments
In Ersdalen on Hönö, you can see giant’s kettles in the mountains created by the inland ice.
Go for a seal safari
Join Kastor Boat Trips and look for seals.
Skate park
Visit Öckerö’s skate park. It’s 900 square meters large, and you can ride inline skates, BMX bikes, and kickboards in the park.

In Klåva, there are several cozy cafes. Get something warm to drink and delicious pastries at Sockermajas, Check-In or Lilling Cottage.

Surf and kitesurf Hummerviken bay
In the Autumn the west coast often offers higher waves and stronger winds, perfect for surfing and kitesurfing. A recommendation is Hummervik on Öckerö, only 10 min drive from Klåva.
Bouldering in Ersdalen
Ersdalen Nature Reserve on Hönö’s north-western side is popular both for long walks on the rocks and bouldering of various difficulty levels.
Beautifully situated right by the water, an extraordinary climbing experience is on offer. Bouldering is a form of fee-climbing done over small rocky formations without the use of ropes or harnesses.
In addition to Hönö one can also climb on Ökerö, including Rävholmen, Fotö and Hälsö.
